Our take on a barrel aged gin drifted a little further than intended towards whisky, ending up with something that fits comfortably in the Genever category rather than Gin.
With a firm malt body giving the oak something to stand up to it, and native dorrigo pepper and anise myrtle adding complexity to the palate alongside juniper and strawberry gum plus a heavy dose of grapefruit. The resulting spirit leans towards whisky, with the anise and grapefruit resulting in Jaffa-like flavours and luxurious mouthfeel and depth.
Try this in an old fashioned for something unique yet familiar, or neat for the purists.
