Like all good distilling stories, it started over a few gin and tonics, discussing current trends and the industry. Discussions evolved into opening their own distillery and how they would differentiate and represent themselves in a growing market. A few months later the team purchased a custom made copper pot still and began research and development. Over the next twelve months they experimented with hundreds of distillates and flavour combinations to perfect their recipe. In December 2019 the dream became a reality and they had crafted their first gin.
Shortly after releasing their first gin, the team at threefold moved into their new home just outside the city, Fergs, in Stepney. Alongside winemakers Jordan of Moorak Wines and Bevan at Massey Vineyards the urban cellar door acts as a site for production, tastings and casual weekend drinks.

Threefold Distilling was founded by three passionate bartenders from Adelaide, Aidan Shaw, Luke Fleming and Steven Roennfeldt, with a combined industry experience of over 40 years. The name 'threefold' comes from the three bartenders behind the brand and about creating spirits truly greater than the sum of their parts.
